Ottolenghi’s New Cookbook Keeps it SIMPLE
We are big fans of Yotam Ottolenghi. His recipes from Plenty and Jerusalem have been on high rotation in our homes for years so when we heard about his new cookbook – Ottolenghi SIMPLE – of course, we had to get together to try some of the recipes.
The dishes in this new book are all SIMPLE in at least one (but very often more than one) way:
S – short on time: less than 30 minutes
I – 10 ingredients or less
M – make ahead
P – pantry
L – lazy
E – easier than you think
Here’s the chilli fish with tahini and roasted beetroot with yoghurt and preserved lemon (top) that Emily G made. She served it with a cauliflower, pomegranate and pistachio salad and roast potatoes (bottom).
Along with the bought Babka we had for dessert (we’d never attempt making that) and the very respectable amount of rosé we drank (who would have thought we could be so sensible with no work the next day?), we decided that SIMPLE Sunday lunches need to happen more often.
Buy Ottolenghi SIMPLE through your local bookstore, Booktopia or Book Depository or wherever you get good books.
And tell us… have you tried any recipes from SIMPLE yet?

Yes! It’s great. We’ve made the ciabatta frittata, miso chicken, chicken Marbella, chilli fish amongst others – prawn, feta & orzo coming up tomorrow.
